November will be here before you know it, but it’s still a bit too soon for most of our employees and friends to get a peek at the inside of the new Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital. We’ve just added a new feature to our website, though, to give you an idea of approximately where the different units and features of this beautiful new 12-floor hospital will be. Check it out!
** This tool is designed to give a general idea of where specific clinics and areas are located. Spaces are approximate.
Our Patient & Family Centered Care team helps make sure the voices of patients and families are reflected in everything we do. Program coordinator Kelly Parent facilitates a number of committees where parents and families weigh in on everything from what we serve in the dining area to how we will more patients into the new hospital. Watch this video to hear Kelly explain how families get involved! Continue reading →
Imagine all the things running through your mind on a regular basis when it comes to your children. Now imagine how much more complicated things could become when your child is ill. Here are a handful of other fun numbers that give you an idea of the immensity of this new hospital – all focused on children and women’s healthcare! Continue reading →
We are now just one year away from the day we move patients into the new hospital.
It would be an understatement to say that there is a lot of planning going on. There are so many details for the overall hospital planning and department-specific planning. If you have ever moved from one house to another, you understand the effort of packing, sorting, discarding, moving, unpacking, sorting, discarding, etc. Consider doing this for a 1.1 million square foot house.
Yesterday was November 3, 2010 – exactly one year until the dedication ceremony for our new C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital.
To celebrate this milestone, Pat Warner, Executive Director of C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital, and several of our activation team members made visits to each of the units in Mott and Von Voigtlander to deliver commemorative children’s building blocks inspired by our new logo to each patient and staff member.
